How to Check Your Current Version
Open chiaki-ng and look for the version in the title bar / About dialog. If it reads anything older than 1.10.0, an update is available.
Stable vs Weekly Canary Builds
Alongside stable releases, the project publishes weekly canary test builds on the releases page.
These contain the newest fixes but may be unstable — most users should stay on the latest stable (v1.10.0) and only try canary builds if they enjoy testing.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the latest version of chiaki-ng?
v1.10.0 (April 2026) is the latest stable release. It added an OpenGL renderer backend, VSync and upscaler presets, better PSN remote-play reliability, reworked audio/haptics, and macOS ARM fixes.
Will updating delete my registered PlayStation consoles?
No. Your console registrations and settings live in chiaki-ng’s config files, which updates do not touch. Update freely — you will not need to re-enter your PSN Account ID or PIN.
How often does chiaki-ng release updates?
There is no fixed schedule. Stable releases land when enough fixes and features accumulate (recent history: several per year), and weekly canary test builds are published in between for testers.
Should I use the weekly canary builds?
Only if you like testing unfinished software. Canary builds have the newest fixes but can also introduce new bugs. For daily use, stick with the latest stable release.
The update command says "no newer version found" but I know one exists — why?
Package managers can lag behind GitHub by hours or days. Run winget source update / brew update / flatpak update first to refresh, or just download the release manually from GitHub.
